Auf der Basis quantitativer Forschung des PoleStar Project und der Global Scenarios Group (1995-2002) hat die Great Transition Initiative, ein internationales und interdisziplinäres Netzwerk mit mehr als 300 Mitgliedern, Großszenarien für verschiedene Entwicklungspfade über die kommenden 100 Jahre ausgearbeitet. Einen der Entwicklungspfade nennen sie die “Great Transformation”, welche
explores visionary solutions to the sustainability challenge, including new socioeconomic arrangements and fundamental changes in values. This scenario depicts a transition to a society that preserves natural systems, provides high levels of welfare through material sufficiency and equitable distribution, and enjoys a strong sense of local solidarity.
In diesem Szenario muss im Jahr 2100 global niemand mehr mehr als zweieinhalb Stunden täglich lohnarbeiten – bei allgemeiner 5-Tagewoche.
